Darla is widely recognized in the floral industry for her creative talents and design skills. Her industry experiences are very diversified and encompass many facets, such as judging floral design, commentating, instructing floral workshops, and organizing and presenting programs at numerous industry events and conventions.
An active member of the American Institute of Floral Designers, she currently serves on the national membership committee, and also had the honor of presenting a holiday home decor program at the 2006 AIFD National Symposium in Washington, D.C. In 2007, Darla became a member of Professional Floral Communicators International ( PFCI ), the prestigious group of floral commentators.
Darla's designs have been featured in many books, magazines and other publications, including Flowers& magazine, numerous floral selection guides, and the John Henry wedding and sympathy books. She is a member of Teleflora's acclaimed team of Education specialists and has shared her talents and presented programs extensively throughout the United States and Canada.
Deborah De La Flor
Deborah De La Flor AIFD, CFD, PFCI
More than 25 years ago, Deborah De La Flor found not only a career in the floral industry, but her passion. Her resume includes such titles as Greater Miami Designer of the Year, Florida State Designer of the Year and winner of the FTD Great Masters Design competition. Deborah was first runner up at the FTD America's Cup Finals in 2000. In 2004, she competed in the 10th annual Interflora World Cup Competition in Melbourne, Australia. Her most recent accomplishment was her presentation entitled " Imagination on the Main Stage " at the 2009 AIFD National Symposium in Kansas City, Missouri.
In 1996, De La Flor was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers ( AIFD ). Her design outreach in the floral industry includes a role as an FTD Design Instructor, offering innovative design seminars sponsored by FTD and industry shows in the U.S. & Internationally. She is also the author of the floral design book " Florsages: The Art of Floral Body Design " and numerous creative features in industry publications.
Her knowledge of the floral industry as well as her ability to anticipate and influence the latest floral trends has led to consulting work for some of the floral industry's biggest names such as Syndicate Sales, Dole Fresh Flowers, Vista Flor, Grower Direct Fresh Cut Flowers Inc. & others.
