2010 OZARK CUP Design Contest Rules: Saturday and Sunday, September 18 & 19, 2010 Holiday Inn Joplin - Joplin, Missouri
1) Pre-registration for Design Contest is recommended. Registration can be achieved by calling Butch Johnston at 800.441.6486 or by going to the Ozark website: www.aboutozark.com and clicking on the " Contact Us " tab. All entries should be received in advance or at least by 12:00 PM the day of the competition. No later entry fees will be accepted. A $30.00 entry fee will need to be paid by each registrant before the competition begins. Only dues paid registrants of the Ozark Florist Association are eligible to compete.
2) Check - in and instructions will begin at 12:30 PM, Saturday, September 18, 2010. The competition will begin at 1:00 PM sharp and end at 3:00 PM. Clean - up of the design area will immediately follow.
3) Contestants may bring the following items into the design contest area, all in a clear zip lock bag: Knife, scissors, wire cutters, clippers, waterproof tape, green stem wrap tape (light +/or dark green), ONE tube of floral adhesive,needle nose pliers & one roll of 12 gauge lime green decorative wire. 4) Each designer will complete three ( 3 ) designs : a) Theme Design b) Wedding Design c) Sympathy Design The specific theme and type of each design will be announced when instructions are given.
5) Designs will be judged by number only, not by name.
6) The top five ( 5 ) finalists will be announced from the Main stage just prior to the Sunday lunch and will complete their final "Surprise Package Design-Off" ..on stage at 1:00 PM Sunday afternoon.The winners will be announced immediately following the final phase of the competition on Sunday afternoon.
7) The winners will be announced immediately following the final program on Sunday afternoon
8) Score sheets will not be available until after the final winners are announced.
9) Designs cannot be removed from the design room until after the final winners are announced.
