Ozark Florist Association
Design Contest
page II

We invite all designers in the four state area to compete in this competition. They MUST be a dues paid member of the Ozark Florist Association. Previous winners of the Ozark Design Contest are
not eligible to compete.

The Ozark Cup Chairperson will have access to the master list which
tells which designers were assigned which numbers for their designs.

ALSO
The winner of the Ozark Cup will be the designer with the highest overall score.
This designer may be asked to represent Ozark at other levels of competition like the Mid - America Design Contest or the National Alliance of Florists
Association (NAFA) National Designer of the Year Contest.

However,
The Silver Award, a scholarship to the Teleflora Education Center provided
by Teleflora, will be awarded to the designer with the highest overall score that is a MEMBER of Teleflora.

If qualified, one person can win BOTH categories.

Each design will be judged in 10 (ten) categories: Category interpretation,
Creativity, Scale (proportion), Unity (harmony and texture), Balance (physical and visual), Focal Emphasis, Line (movement and rhythm), Depth, Color (balance, harmony and rhythm) and Mechanics (professional application).

If there is a tie in determining the winner, the first runner up and/or second runner up, eliminating the Sympathy Design score will break the tie.
If a tie still exists, the Bridal Design score will be eliminated.

The Ozark competition is a long standing part of the " Ozark " experience.
It is very important to the Board of Directors that all the designers understand the importance of sportsmanship and community that we all share as a part of the Association. We understand that a competition is one of the most challenging but most rewarding parts of the educational experience.

Please let us know of any concerns or suggestions that can
make this part of your Ozark Experience better !
